About Mika Kim
Mika Kim is a Korean-born contemporary artist living and working in the United States. Through painting, drawing, fabric, and installation, she explores color, texture, movement, and emotion as living forces. Her intuitive, layered process allows each work to evolve through accumulation, interruption, and transformation.
Shaped by movement between cultures and places, Mika Kim’s work is energetic, raw, and tactile. Forms bloom, burst, and persist across changing surfaces, expressing both vulnerability and power.
Mika Kim has exhibited internationally through solo exhibitions and art fairs across the United States, Canada, South Korea, Europe, and Southeast Asia. Her art fair presentations include two appearances at SCOPE Art Miami, as well as CONTEXT Art Miami and Affordable Art Fair New York.
Artist Statement My work begins with emotion rather than a fixed plan. Through color, texture, layering, and repeated gestures, I allow each painting to develop through an ongoing conversation between intuition and material. I am drawn to rawness, movement, and imperfection—the traces that reveal how a work came into being.
